Welcome Back…

Welcome back everyone.. I know it has been a long time since we posted about infertility and journeys and so much more. If you have been here from the beginning you know that we went through fertility treatments and in the year 2017 had our miracle baby. He is getting ready to turn 4 in just 2 weeks.. I know where does the time go. Over the past year now Michael and I have discussed wanting to start our journey with fertility treatments to conceive our miracle #2. There was a lot of discussion that went into this as my pregnancy with Declan wasn’t the easiest. I experienced acute kidney failure, very fast heart rates that caused its own issues, and towards my 30 weeks I began to experience Preeclampsia which eventually became very severe. From all of those things we knew before we made any decisions we had to talk to a High Risk OBGYN to know what we may be looking at for baby #2 and also what sort of pre planning could we do. So in January 2021 we had our meeting with them and a couple weeks later we met with our fertility doctor with Conceptions in Lafayette Colorado. To say we were nervous would be an understatement but quickly we realized our doctors were amazing and they truly had our interests at heart, they were honest with us upfront and didn’t sugar coat anything and we appreciated that. Our High Risk OB came up with a plan that would take place once I had the positive pregnancy and we began our diagnostic testing. As I mentioned from our previous blog about Declan I suffer from severe PCOS. I do not get a cycle unless given medication, so that’s just what we did. I started my first cycle in about 2 years, and began blood work and ultrasounds. At my HSG the doctor looking over my scans noticed that my uterus didn’t have a shape she liked, it was shaped like a kidney bean. My uterus had a very large dip in the middle, which I will get to that later. Michael did his analysis, but then in April 2021 I tested positive for the Flu and a very severe strain of it. I was hospitalized and if I hadn’t sought medical attention the ER doctor told me I could have died due to the complications the Flu was causing. Over the last 7 months we decided that I needed to heal my body and we would just press pause. Last month we began talking about starting our journey again, that we felt ready. See our newest blog post for the most recent update. As always thank you for taking the time to read our posts and follow our journey.
